The Chronicle of Higher Education is reporting that the University of Florida is facing a cut in state appropriations and trimming $47 million from its 2008-09 budget. The university is laying off 20 faculty members and 118 staffers. Judging from some data I stumbled on recently, the answer would seem to be yes, or at least MBAs seem to think so. The data is from PayScale, an outfit that collects pay information directly from individuals on interactive tools you sometimes see on various web sites.
